Kaziranga National Park welcome you to the Nameri National Park ~ Sonitpur Wildlife Reserve ~ Assam. The Nameri National Park is located in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, straddles the border between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Located at a distance of 181 kilometers from Guwahati, it is just the place for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers with its breathtaking natural beauty and diverse flora and fauna. The Nameri National Park is one of the National Parks in India that provide tourists the option of trekking into the Wilds (accompanied by forest guards) to spot the majestic Tiger species at the Nameri Tiger Reserve view point. It is also less frequented by tourists thereby avoiding the hustle bustle at other National Parks of importance in the State.
The Nameri National Park was declared a reserve forest on 17 October 1978. Priorly it was set up as a Nameri Sanctuary on 18 September 1985 as a part of Naduar Forest Reserve. Until then, the National Park of Nameri was heaving used for logging. It was officially established as a National Park in 15 November 1998. The Jia Bhoroli river of Assam was famous since, the time of British for the Golden Mahseer Angling.
Fauna species at the Nameri National Park includes the likes of tiger, leopard, sambar, dhole (the Asiatic wild dog), pygmy hog, muntjac, wild boar, sloth bear, Himalayan black bear,capped langur, Indian giant squirrel, etc. The Nameri National Park boasts of a wide variety of Flora, Fauna and Avifauna. DAY 1 ~ Guwahati – Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary
Arrive at Guwahati Airport. Upon your arrival, you’ll be met by our representative offering you a warm welcome in traditional Assamese style. From the Airport drive to the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary. Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary has the highest population density of the Endangered Indian One Horned Rhinoceros anywhere in the World. Check in to a Jungle Resort at Pobitora.

DAY 2 ~ Pobitora – Mayong – Sonapur – Nameri
Early Morning go for an adventurous Elephant/Jeep Safari into the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary to sight the Flora and Fauna at Pobitora. After Breakfast, we will visit Mayong Black Magic Museum. Mayong is known as the ‘Black Magic Capital of India’ owing to the Magic Practices that were prevalent in the ancient times. Later visit the Treasured Wheels musuem at Sonapur that has on display many Vintage Car and Motorbikes from the Era of World War I and World War II. Depart to the Nameri National Park at Tezpur. Sight the Majestic Tea Gardens of Assam on your way. Check into a Jungle Resort at the Nameri National Park.

DAY 3 ~ Nameri National Park
Today we will spend the day trekking into the deep jungles of the Nameri National Park and Tiger Reserve accompanied by a Forest Guard. Nameri is a Bird watchers paradise and you can spot many species of Migratory Birds at Nameri. Other species of Fauna can also be spotted during the trek. Retire to the resort after the trek.

DAY 4 ~ Nameri – Sivasagar – Majuli Island
Earning morning depart to Sivasagar. Sivasagar was the capital of the mighty Ahom Kingdom of Assam and is known for the Architectural marvels of the Ahom Dynasty. At Sivasagar, visit the Talatal Ghar, Rang Ghar and the Siva Dol. If time permits also visit the Kareng Ghar. Return to the Neemati Ghat at Jorhat to embark on the journey to the World’s Largest River Island of Majuli on the mighty Brahmaputra. Night Halt at an Eco Resort/Homestay at Majuli Island.

DAY 5 ~ Majuli Island – Jorhat
Today we visit the Satras (Assamese Monasteries) and learn about the Neo Vaisnavite culture that is practiced by the monks. Explore the mysteries of the Largest River Island in the World also learn about the lost art of Mask making. Spend time spotting rare birds and fishing. Evening return to Jorhat. Night halt at a comfortable hotel.
