The Kaziranga National Park in Assam a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Tiger Reserve is spread across a total core area of 430 square kilometers. While the Jeep Safari inside these ranges of Kaziranga are allowed across the four zones, the Elephant safari is organized in the two zones only: the Central or Kohora range and the Western or Bagori range. Again here, access to the Kohora Safari zone on Elephant Safari is limited to foreigners and VIP delegates while Indian Nationals get the option to explore the vast reserves of Kaziranga National Park on an Elephant back here at the Bagori Safari Zone. Elephant rides timing and routes are decided by the Kaziranga National Park management. Usually there are two regular slots for Elephant Safari during the tourist season at Kaziranga National Park. One at morning 5 AM and the other at morning 6 AM. When the number of tourists are more a third slot at 7 AM is also added. The park authority retains the right to change the timing and routes. Usually, guests prefer to take safari in the western zone where they will have chance to get close view of the rhinos. Do not make any perception about a particular zone because all zones take you to the heart of the Kaziranga National Park and there is no such bad zone. Every zone is unique in term of forests, grasslands, density of mammals & bird, land topography, terrains etc.

The Elephant Safari at Kaziranga National Park get booked very early before the start of season due to limited availability of Elephants at both the Safari ranges. Hence it becomes necessary for guests to book their safari much ahead of their travel dates to Kaziranga National Park. Bookings can be undertaken for Indian National at the Bagori Safari range of Kaziranga while no advance booking is taken for Elephant Safari at Kohora range. Bookings at Kohora can be arranged based on availability during the time of visit.

Day 1 ~ Guwahati  – Kaziranga National Park

Arrive at Guwahati Airport. On arrival you will be received by our representative at the airport offering a warm welcome in traditional Assamese style. From the Airport drive to the Kaziranga National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Kaziranga National Park is home to the highest population of the Endangered One Horned Rhinoceros species anywhere in the world. On arrival check into a Comfortable hotel/Guest House. Visit the nearby tea gardens in the late afternoon. Evening Bon fire and cultural performances (Bihu Dance of Assam) on request.

Day 2 ~ Kaziranga National Park – Kaziranga Orchid Park – Guwahati

Early morning go for a Elephant Safari into the Kaziranga National Park from the Bagodi/Kohora Safari Range at the National Park. Later in the day visit the Kaziranga Orchid and Bio-Diversity Park at Kaziranga National Park. The Kaziranga Orchid and Bio-Diveristy Park is the Largest Orchid Park in India. Depart to Guwahati.
